Music Ministry
Choir
All shy hummers and just-a-bit-interested musical vocalists are welcome to join the church choir. Typically the choir rehearses each Wednesday evening from 7-8 pm and Sundays from 9:45-10:15 am, September through May. The choir performs Sundays September through May and select Sundays throughout the summer. Highlights include two cantatas yearly: Christmas and Palm Sunday.
Our DLUMC choir provides: challenges for all levels of singers, humor in every rehearsal and sometimes even more than that, opportunity to share and be a part of something that makes a difference, interest in the variety of styles of music sung, rehearsals to practice and perfect an art form called choral singing, and security in knowing that each Wednesday and Sunday you are an important part
of something and missed when you are gone. The messages in the anthems minister to us many times over as we rehearse. Think about joining us often or as often as you can.
Special Music
Special music is very much appreciated at DLUMC worship, especially if the choir is not singing at that service. This is especially true during the summer months. Special music often includes vocal solos or groups, and instrumental music is also welcome. Special music may be requested for funerals or other events. Young people have often presented musical offerings before, during, and after worship. Please contact me if you would be willing to offer your musical talents in this way.
Accompaniment is sometimes needed as well. If you are a pianist who would be willing to accompany a soloist, for example, your service would be very welcome. Please contact me with any questions or for more information: djordan@lpa.k12.mn.us
God bless you for this consideration,
Diane Jordan, Choir Director
